What is ODRAIn 2021, I came up with the idea of creating an open platform for artists, curators, and art historians from the post-Soviet region who wanted to publish their essays in English. My main goal was to help them integrate into an English-speaking environment while also
establishing a media source on Eastern European art for international audiences.
Today, our region’s art community is scattered across the world, making it more important than ever to continue shaping ODRA as a platform that unites and empowers artistic community from Eastern Europe and post-Soviet countries, while exploring critical and relevant topics in contemporary art. Our
mission is to help artists, curators, researchers, critics and all other members of the community to be heard and seen, and make it easier for them to integrate into the global art context.
Over the past few years, I have developed a partnership with the Dutch gallery Distant for the project. Together with the team, we conducted a series of interviews accompanied by photo shoots, featuring artists such as Valery Chtak, Maria Somik, and others. We published over 20 original essays on the platform, launched an open call, and remain open to new collaborations.
